Our 100% natural coconut shell charcoal briquettes are clean of nitrates (or other lighting additives like sawdust), which help briquettes light faster but have negative side effects. Our briquettes, on the other hand, have a higher fixed carbon content, which means they will burn hotter and longer once lit than other briquettes.

Method 1-

• An electric coil heater is the best way to light our briquettes.
• Turn the heater to high and place the briquettes on one side of the heater for about 4 minutes before flipping it over.
• Wait until there is a thin covering of ash on practically all surfaces.
• It may take up to ten minutes to complete the lighting process.
• It may take longer to light larger briquettes than smaller ones.

Method 2-

• Increase coal-to-coal contact by stacking the charcoal briquettes in a tidy mound or pyramid.
• Then, using a cotton rag soaked in oil (cooking oil), light it.
• The soaking rag (a piece of old cloth) in oil provides a clean burning wick that burns slowly enough to allow the charcoal briquettes to catch fire.
• The fire will quickly spread to the remaining briquettes in the pile. When the briquettes are completely covered in grey ash, they are ready to use.

• Make a nice mound or pyramid out of the charcoal briquettes.
• Light the lighter fluid on the unit charcoal pile right away.
• The fire will quickly spread to the remaining briquettes in the pile.

Smart Orbiters charcoal and water are not friends. Leaving Charcoal out in the rain or even leaving it outside and exposed to fog, high humidity or dew means the briquets will not light efficiently. To avoid this, always store your briquets in a c dry place. Just grab the bag and bring it back into the warehouses with you or roll the top of the bag shut and place it in an empty trash can or storage bin—with the lid on to protect it from the elements.

No. Once you use it, it will burn off completely. The burning time will be longer comparatively. To avoid heat and material wastage feed the required quantity of charcoal briquettes only.
